Montasir Monsur Sourav
As a walk by the lakeside, I rise from yesterday’s death
The chill in today’s morning air yearns for a solemn breath.
As I stride beneath the purple sky seeking solace,
Witnessing a wandering heart away from this place,
A whisper so soft, velvety glare with green eyes,
Caresses my ears with the words, “Love never dies.”
“Wake up!” She commands. “Embrace the divine in your soul,
Drink from my lips!” Insisting, she now takes full control.
Drawing me to her breast she says, “Let me play my role.”
Lost in ecstasy, I forgot all that there is-
Nothing else mattered as the void seemed to cease.
Her warmth won over a long frozen heart
Arousing flames of fire blazing the soul apart.
She was gone as my eyes flutter back to light
“Dreams again,” I think as not a soul was in sight.
Startled by the wet wind, I raise eyes to the sky.
I see the clouds change as if to mourn, to cry.
The walk back feels a strain but I carry a content smile
Tears from the crying sky awaken the memory all the while.
Raindrops tease the lust and passion of the divine
Just a vivid dream it was but it was rather fine.
Awoke, I see it and in bliss for now
Such love remains illusive yet I know it feels how.
Shall I return to the lake tomorrow,
In hope of that touch, but what if I meet sorrow?
What invites me to a hopeless walk, to despair,
Lets the night pass and my heart, unrepaired?
Awoke, I am now and hope again for one new-
Such dreams that we dream, not all but a few.
