Searching for an Elysian World
Mahjabeen Hassan Wreete
Far across the land and sea,
I desire to reach that celestial city;
The locus that I am digging till,
That lies in that Elysian field.
The scenery looks like the paradise
Where Adam and Eve never quarrel or fight;
Sights are painted with doves and swans,
With lilies, poppies, and cosmo blossoms.
Greeting lines of roses with thorns,
Encountering several cows with horns;
Yet searching the path on my map,
The way to fairyland.
I desire to reach that ecstasy;
Hoping that across the land and sea;
The locus that I am digging till,
Lies in that Elysian Field.
