(Poem) Maybe Someday

By Simum Zaman

The moon is shining bright tonight,

But the city has too much light.

So I close my eyes and dream of you,

But I see nothing except darkness.

Maybe someday we’ll meet in the moonlight.

The sun is rising in the east.

I can’t hope for the mist,

So I open my eyes and look for you.

Again see nothing, hopeless too.

Maybe someday we’ll meet in the sunlight.

The stars are sparkling in the night,

And fireflies dance or fight,

But I can’t be happy without you.

It makes me want to laugh and swear.

Maybe someday we’ll meet in the starlight.
