“Have you thought about the shape of life?
Is it round, square or oval like an egg?
What about colors? How does it shine?
Blue for the newborn; white for the aged.
Some colors do fade, some shapes do decline;
But long live the brightest, the one from martyr.”
Who doesn’t like fireflies, the stars among the earth? Imagine enjoying your coffee while sitting by the window in a dark night. Suddenly a small baby light starts to move in front of you in a rhythm. You are mesmerized. Then you realize it’s nothing but a messenger from the stars who carries hope and happiness that can put a little smirk on face or a feeling of peace inside one’s heart. But suddenly a cold wind through the window touches you letting a sentence echo among the neurons of brain,
“Why do fireflies have to die so fast?”
Then you wonder, “What purposes do the fireflies have? Are their lives even meaningful when they are bound by the fate to live a short life?”
That intrusive thought runs through every pulse of your heartbeat. Then you close your eyes and remember our grave of fireflies. Who has said no battle can be won by blood and words only? Let’s welcome them to our grave of fireflies, those who has carried our words to heaven to let the stars know the power of one spirit.
A change is evident when someone tries to put a stop to a harmony that starts to occur when same song gets sung by different instruments but with the same rhythm.
‘Unity’ is the genesis of all catalyst that can bring a change. A sky with a single star is nothing but a dark canvas, but put all the stars in their position, they will show light, light to an everchanging universe where the birds can fly out of the cages.
And as Luis Lane has said in the movie “Justice League”,
“Darkness, the truest darkness is not the absence of light. It’s the conviction that light will never return.”
So, let’s keep this light always cast in our sky as it has cost us the blood of our dearest one. And one conclusion,
“Why do fireflies have to die so fast?”
Let’s keep the name of the spirits always in our heart and let it always show us light, light of hope, light of change, light to dispel all darkness.
