A Dream-chasing Mind

A Dream-chasing Mind

-Radia Al Rashid

I, standing on an island

With brimming water around,

Feeling the hurt of scattered pieces

And listening to the scorching sound.

For once, I could pick all the pieces

To glue them up,

With the firm belief in heart

They won’t again mess up.

Then, the shattered pieces

Did come out right,

Few days, after the happening

Were so beautiful and bright.

The brightness might be cloying

And way too much to hold,

This is why the fixed pieces

Again betrayed, leaving everything

Grieving and cold.

Well, meaningless to mention

The dispersion occurred again,

Everything suddenly turned out to put an end

To what once happened to begin.

Knowing the insignificance

of trying so hard,

This mind, finally accepted

The bitterness of life

Without spending a single word.

I left the pieces, disbanded

And sloppy, behind;

Though lost, some precious belongings

Still, have a dream chasing mind.
