(Poem)Whispers of the Night: A Song of Scattered Stars and Gathered Hearts

By Shahriyer Hossain Shetu

I take delight in scattering, a penchant I possess grand
Tell me, will you gather me, lend me your command?

Oh, I revel in the art of coming undone
Speak, reveal, will you hold me, like the setting sun?

Today my boat sinks in the depths of your being
Conversations descend, like words softly fleeing

As the night breeze beholds you in its grasp
Breath suspended, like a moment in clasp

Oh, the rivers of the night in your eyes do flow
This game is won, a hundred percent to show

Upon the path we tread, footsteps have arisen
Eyes bow down, as if secrets are given

In your gaze, the night’s river does shine
As if a gamble is won, by a clever design

As steps are taken, the eyes begin to lower
As if a profound conversation is happening in this hour

In each other, we seem to be losing our way
Like the mist in a winter evening’s sway

This water, a reflection of you, has become my mirror
In the stars, you are counted, clearer and clearer

I take delight in scattering, a penchant I possess grand
Tell me, will you gather me, lend me your command?
